Poutinizer
CurrentRetired but available to help foreign companies to grow in Québec by doing the right things the right way and avoid making beginners mistakes, like we see every day. By foreign companies, I am thinking about US companies, Canadian companies with head office outside of Quebec and France companies. POUTINIZER: (as in the famous Quebec meal)The most powerful business sentence I have ever heard was in the mid 90’s when I was travelling regularly to Prague on business. I met one of our customers, an American who was the Country manager for a US base multinational in the soap industry. I asked him « What’s your biggest challenge to grow in Czech Republic? » His answer was « My biggest challenge is to get a bunch of idiots at our US Head Office to understand that to smell good in Czech Republic, it’s apple not lemon » What a great answer that simply shows how companies have difficulties to adapt to a new or different market due to inside ignorance. Living in Québec, a totally different market than the rest of North America by its language and culture, every day I see companies missing the boat here and trying to sell something not adapted, with the wrong approach and strategy. They come here not understanding it is different and try doing exactly what they do everywhere else and they fail or don’t achieve the results they would be able to get if they did the right thing. So I am creating a new job title and I am proud to become the world’s first Poutinizer. I will simply help you look at what you are doing to sell in Québec and make sure it « smells » right for Quebecers. Your product and services will just be as « Québécois » as a poutine when I am finished.I can tell you so many stories of failures, bad moves and wrong spendings I see every day. So think of me as your sales expert for this great market, totally unique in North America. Let’s discuss your challenges in the market and I will help you find the right solutions or peoples to help you
