Projects manager:Development of a fully integrated production line for wood components in the furniture industry. The system detects all defects like rot, knots, worm holes, cracks, mineral coloration, etc. on both faces of the board and send the defect map to an optimizer. The optimizer was specifically developed to maximize yield or values of the parts produced. Finally, the cutting pattern is printed on one face of the scanned board. More than 30 people worked on this multi-million project.Develpment and installation of a vision system for Jack Pine sorting in a saw mill. Feasability studies for Alcan for inspecting cylindrical aluminium ingot using a 3-D camera system. Management:Put in place a project management structure with a coordination committee involving a multi-disciplinary team: mechanical, electrical, vision, software and control.Personnel evaluation, R&D credits, presentation of techncial conferences.

Put in place the first telemedecine network using tcp-ip H.261 video stream in 13 sites in Gaspesie, province of Quebec, Canada. This allowd a cardiopediatric specialist to do remote diagnosis for remote location and having fuill control of an on-site camera to interact with the patient and/or medical personnel.First succesful transmission of tcp-ip encapsulated H.261 video in ATM packets broadcasted on a bi-directional communication link with Anik E1. Most problems with H-261 video streams were related to choppy video and sound interruption.Management of R&D team with evaluation, budget, recruitment of personnel, on-site debugging and public relation.

Algorithm development of high resolution spectral estimation using parametric and non-parametric methods for FMCW radar signature.Software package development for estimating the radial temperature profile within transparent object drilled with a laser beam using holographic Moire technique.Neural network classification in different projects: LANDSAT imagage analysis, weeds detection in crop fields, estimation of humidity percentage of iron powder for the mining industry. Classification of spectral signatures of recyclable plastics.Member of the organizing committee of the Seventh Workshop on Statistical SIgnal Processing and Array Processing (1994). More than 100 international researchers attended the workshop.
