Michel Schaus holds a 20+ year career across a spectrum of roles: international C-level executive, entrepreneur, lawyer, start-up advisor and mentor, and founder of Xtend, a company embracing the paradigm of harmoniously blending smarthome technology, tradition and culture with sustainable, interconnected and aesthetic housing. On the corporate side, with Encevo and Cargolux in the energy and aviation sectors, diverse roles included asset purchases, mergers & acquisitions, international compliance, organisational design, and change management. Here he interacted externally with industry market leaders, governments and administrations, and held Board of Director roles advising on and defending critical files. Leaving the corporate environment in 2018, he continues his involvement in start-up ecosystems as an active investor and advisor. Due to a deep and vast network, Michel is a door opener and connector interacting with business angels exploring new ideas, partnerships and ventures. Academically, he holds law degrees in Luxembourg and France and an Executive MBA from IMD in Lausanne.A few years ago, Michel founded Xtend, a real estate development company focussing on the revival of traditional building techniques, where he officially scaled up a 20-year passion for architecture (historical and contemporary), renovation of homes, technology developments, and a passion to create something useful for the environment. This plays out in renovating and extending life of historical houses (10 completed projects to date), bridging traditional and new construction materials, while providing the highest level of interconnectivity with the environment.At the intersection of all his endeavours, whether in corporate environments, start-up ecosystems, and with XTend, is a red thread as a trend spotter, early adapter to new technologies, and concern for the environment. His joy is contributing to the design of common-sense solutions that bring value to stakeholders and customers.
