• Focus: human molecular genetics of substance abuse.• Performed research on the genetics of substance abuse in adolescents, which involved, obtaining DNA from individuals and attempting to map genetic traits of substance abuse.• Completed an honors thesis titled, “Comparative mapping of human and chimpanzee chromosome 18.” My thesis work compared chromosome 18 of human and chimp to ascertain differences between humans and the great apes. This research was funded by the Howard Hughes Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program.• Presented data at weekly lab meetings.• Trained new technicians.
