About Michele Corrado

I joined Magaldi Power in 2004 as a junior Project Manager. During the years I started managing jobs for Clients located worldwide, including large EPC contracts. During my experience as Sales Team Leader I coordinated the sales activities and proposals for my clients, focusing on the Australian and South African markets. In 2018, I took on the challenge of managing the Service Business Unit and the Construction & Commissioning department, where I led a team of 20 engineers across four continents, ensuring the full satisfaction of customers and the timely resolution of issues. Since June 2021, I have been leading the procurement function, where I leverage my technical and commercial skills to optimize the cost, quality, and delivery of the projects. As the Director of Procurement at Magaldi Power, I oversaw the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials, equipment, and services. Since May 2024 I am in charge of management and business development of Getra Service srl, a Getra Group company. Born in 1949, Getra is an Italian leader in design, production and supply of Power Transformers, Distribution Transformers and interconnection solutions for electricity grid. Within its long history, the Industrial Group has achieved a track record of 250.000 transformers supplied in Europe, America, Middle East and Africa, gaining an outstanding experience in providing its customers with Turn Key solutions.With more than 20 years of experience in the power generation industry, I have a deep knowledge of EPC contracts, project management, and sales strategies, as well as a strong network of suppliers and partners. I am passionate about learning new things, getting involved, and facing new work challenges. I am always open to change and innovation, and I believe that curiosity, courage, and collaboration are the keys to a successful career. The main task of this work experience was the knowledge of the background of the issues that I had to fix daily, reading the problems in the correct context where they arised, which strongly depended from the culture of the Clients.Often I had to move to the Client's in order to negotiate Contcact chang-orders and construction claims.

    I was Project Manager of contracts, some of them on a turn-key basis, for the supply of dry bottom ash handling systems for solid fuel power generators. These systems help to improve the boiler efficiency, reduce the environmental impact of the traditional wet ash handling systems, saving water and power, and ensuring performances at the highest level of reliability and safety. I was first assistant Project Manager, working for Australian Clients (value up to 3.5 million euros per year). During this period I learnt the basis of project management and, then, I was senior Project Manager for Italian, Spanish, Korean, Japanese and Indian Clients (as ENEL, Endesa, Kawasaki H.I., etc.). During this period I managed projects up to 15 M euros per year. As contract representative I managed the relations with the Clients and controlled the supplies. I controlled and managed the overall project schedules and the design, procurement, production, shipment and site installation activities, constantly reporting to the Group Project Director, monitoring the project costs with respect to the required quality targets.
