Roles in addition to managing and performing independent research projects included mentoring junior members of the lab including the training and management of rotation students' projects. Also, assisted in collaborative multi-laboratory research projects.

Projects: 1) Role of oleoylethanolamide (OEA) in signaling pathways associated with Alzheimer's disease modulation.
2) Evaluating the role of soluble epoxide hydrolase in the development of Alzheimer’s disease neuropathology and related cognitive decline.

Dissertation Project: The effect of near infrared light treatment on the synaptic sensitivity to amyloid oligomersThroughout my PhD, I was highly involved in student organizations. I served as Vice President of the local Galveston Chapter of Society for Neuroscience, where I organized community outreach events. Through these events we actively advocated for and mentored the next generation of scientists. We were also tasked with communicating scientific research to the general public. I was also involved as a student representative for the graduate school curriculum committee, where I served as a liaison between the student body and faculty in the development of courses.
