Human Resources Generalist/Payroll Specialist

Utilizing a combination of transferable skills as an employment specialist, disability advocate, work incentive advocate, community health advocate, and a degree in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources, I completed a mid career change to enter the Human Resources work force at Rochester Rehabilitation. In my current role, I coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, employee benefits including health insurance and leave requests , and off boarding processes. I also assist with employee recognition activities. In 2022, our organization made multiple major transitions to our payroll company, our benefits contractor, and staff training software programs. These transitions required a team approach to solve problems and learn 3 new processes all at the same time. Our workforce is diverse and requires and understanding of the staffing needs of multiple disciplines. We operate a small factory, a janitorial business serving both federal/state contracts and commercial contracts, a mental health clinic that requires medical billing and various grant funded programs.
