As a Clinical Mental Health Provider, I have provided counseling to clients with various mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance abuse. Evidence-based interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, polyvagal theory techniques and mindfulness are frameworks and approaches I have utilized with clients. Additionally, have used art therapy when clients are open to exploring creativity in their path toward well-being.I have practiced as a clinical mental health therapist since 2019, working with diverse populations such as veterans, geriatric, and SPMI. I have a strong background in social services, art therapy, and case management since 2002. My focus of research has been on reducing the effect of debilitating emotional states and increasing health, wellness, performance and overall life satisfaction especially for populations who have limited access to resources. It has lead me to explore the concept of Safety and Connection, as well as embracing the wholeness of our being in treatment modalities- mind, body and spirit.
