Upward Bound Program Director
CurrentResponsible for overall project management with the guidelines of the USDE as published in EDGAR supervise staff and perform activities required to accomplish all stated project objectives assure the maintenance of adequate eligibility documentation on participants and maintain complete records of compliance with Upward Bound regulations. oversee the accumulation of evaluation data for the Upward Bound project including monthly progress reports and other records of performance. work with the associate dean of institutional effectiveness, distance education, and development in the evaluation of the program. Serve as liaison officer with community agencies and develop a rapport with principals and counselors of area secondary schools to facilitate program success. I also identify, employ, train, and supervise professional tutors and other project personnel as needed. Maintain a monthly budget, plan, develop and coordinate educational, social, cultural and recreational activities and trips for the academic year and summer component. Coordinate the recruiting and screen eligible participants, ninth through twelfth grades in target schools. Responsible for handling discipline issues effectively. provide eligibility documentation/reports. Assure that contacts are documented and filed appropriately. Assure that college financial aid, scholarship and career information is provided to Upward Bound participants. Plan, develop, and administer the tutoring program in target schools and assure participants’ academic needs are being addressed.
