Managed and implemented the knowledge management strategy of a multi-school, federally funded impact study, Accessing Algebra Through Inquiry (a2i) by collaborating on building process monitoring systems and benchmarks that enable tracking of the dissemination efforts of the a2i program. Designed and implemented organizational learning initiatives to support collaboration and knowledge sharing. Conducted a case study on a programmatic approach to standards-based grading.

Compiled a literature review of formative assessment research; conducted a scan of NSF grants and educational institutes for innovative and quality approaches to formative assessment. Conducted a content analysis of multiple years of the US History Regents Exam and developed a subsequent proposal for aligning New Visions curricular resources with both the US History Regents exam and the Gilder Lehrman US History curriculum. To get a better understanding of the allocation of public resources to education and their impact on education inequities, our SIPA Capstone team partnered with the Center for Universal Education to conduct a case study on the public finance of education in Liberia. The study included an analysis of available data on equity and spending patterns and concluded with actionable recommendations for improving equity through public financing of education.

• Achieved a 95% pass rate on the English Regents Exam with 10th grade students, with 73% of those students receiving above a 75 on their exam; Achieved overall pass rate of 83% by end of 11th grade year, and 99% by end of 12th grade year, with 50% of all 2012 cohort receiving above a 75 on their exam.• Achieved an average of four years of reading growth between first and second year. • Led staff-wide professional development sessions focused on both organizing and analyzing data and accountable talk.• Formulated four-year curriculum map for English Department. • Co-founded the Explorations Academy Travel Club, whose aim is to provide students with a unique opportunity for academic investment and transformative experience through travel. Fundraised over $15,000 dollars for the group of students who traveled to Rome, Florence, and Paris on an 8-day trip during their 2011 Spring Break. Traveled to China with 2012 members. • Organized first college trip for 2012 cohort. Took 50 students to Boston to see Northeastern University and UMass Boston. • Founded the AP English Literature and Composition program at Explorations Academy in September 2011.

Selected from approximately 20,000 applicants nationwide to join national teacher corps of recent college graduates and professionals who commit two years to teach in under-resourced public schools.
