Ever since I can remember, I've been captivated by the potential of technology to transform the world around us. This passion guided me to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering, where I honed my skills in problem-solving, analysis, project management, design and innovation, communication, teamwork, research, and development.At Kitty Hawk Technologies in Virginia, my role as a Systems Engineer has allowed me to dive into the practical aspects of engineering. I've engaged with stakeholders, including military leadership, technical experts, and end-users, to maximize the fielding of essential capabilities. Utilizing Gantt charts, I track project schedules and deadlines, ensuring timely task completion and milestone achievement. My ability to identify and elevate potential risks to leadership facilitates proactive mitigation and maintains project momentum. During exercises, I monitor the operational use of experimental technologies, assessing their performance across various scenarios by collecting data on effectiveness, user interactions, and encountered issues. After exercises, my analytical come into play as I evaluate these technologies against predetermined success criteria and prepare comprehensive reports documenting experimentation findings, performance metrics, user feedback, identified issues, and actionable recommendations.Before my entrance into the professional world, my engineering projects in college fueled my drive for innovation. For instance, as part of UAB’s BME Honors Program, I researched, developed, and improved a novel endotracheal intubation mask designed to decrease infection transmission between patients and providers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Leading the design validation process, I identified potential issues and implemented improvements, culminating in an 18-page thesis documenting my findings. Another significant project was developing a pediatric hand exoskeleton for my Senior Capstone Project. Collaborating with peers and a local physical therapist, we created a solution for pediatric patients with arm and hand weakness. I coordinated project meetings, set clear goals and deadlines, facilitated team communication, and delivered multiple review presentations to stakeholders, resulting in a comprehensive 144-page report on product design and prototype testing.I'm excited to continue my engineering journey and make a meaningful contribution.
