After being frustrated by my experiences as a landlord, due to a lack of communication and being amused by a constant turnover of inexperienced Property Managers, I decided to complete my Certificate III in Property Management in hope of self-managing my family’s growing portfolio.I instantly knew I had found my calling. The idea that every day is different, the challenge of managing relationships between landlords and tenants and the overall satisfaction that you get from helping grow someone’s wealth, whilst helping a family in need find accommodation for their family was immediately satisfying. Like every person new to the industry, I worked in a large franchise office for great people in a great team, but I immediately realised why I had had bad service for so many years. The office I worked in, put a lot of energy and effort into their sales teams. Property Management was given very little time by our principal. My colleagues and I worked very long hours managing a very large portfolio. I loved my job but was still feeling like I needed to do more.With the overwhelming amount of support from my five children, Essential Property Management began trading from my upstairs study on the 4th February 2009. My message was simple…..We DO NOT SELL!
