A Registered Architect with 18 years of comprehensive design, documentation, and project management experience, I have successfully led multi-disciplinary teams from conceptual design through construction completion. While my experience includes mixed-use, commercial, and public work, the bulk of my experience has been in the design, documentation, and construction of low-rise, wood-frame multi-family – townhouses, stacked flats, garden apartments, and elevator-service apartment buildings. Hi, my name is Michele Strassheim and if you have every had the pleasure to work in multi-family residential development, you know that it is a unique animal. Each multi-family residential type has its own nuances and rarely are two types, let alone two of the same type, designed exactly the same. Every situation presents unique challenges. However, based on my experience, the one critical common denominator that ensures the success of every multi-family residential type is – strategic planning. Truly effective multi-family design requires extremely methodical strategic and efficient planning. It is the only way to achieve all the objectives. That is why I have spent over a decade learning and further developing strategies that tackle marketing objectives, structural efficiencies, reoccurring MEP field conflicts, and minimizing construction costs.

Architectural DesignerTokarski Millemann Architects, Llc Feb 2006 - Apr 2007Wall, NjWork Experience | Single-family residential + light commercial projects. As a young aspiring architect, the two biggest takeaways from my time with Tokarski Millemann Architects were:#1 Calculated Risks - During an annual review, I received feedback, "you need to take calculated risks." Still in my twenties and seriously lacking confidence, I didn't get it, but nonetheless I held on to that critical feedback. Years later, I had that Aha! moment - it finally clicked! It took time but I eventually developed the skills and confidence to begin asking myself, "Michele, what do you have to lose?" I've learned that I thrive and persevere more when I stop fearing failure and have faith in myself.#2 Every Detail Matters -During this time, Rick Tokarski and Mike Millemann were in the process of joining forces and creating Tokarski Millemann Architects. I was watched them work through the branding and marketing process of their newly established partnership. From this, I learned the importance of the tiniest detail and leaving a lasting impression. And yes, the stock and feel of your business card really does matter! -
