    My work focuses on the investigation about a smart heat and power network based on a new development in Nottingham. The role can be summarised as follow: • To set up models of the community scale heat and electricity generation, distribution, storage and demand. • To model the range of technologies used in community heat and power systems. Extensive use of EnergyPro and Matlab to simulate the system and assist in the design.• To predict the energy flow within the network at different time steps and the net import and export of power.• Using data collected from the site, and working with the energy demand modeller, to verify the predictions of the heat and power model.• To frame the model such that it could be deployed by others wishing to establish community heat and power networks. This includes detailed financial analyses.• To assist the design of the heat network in accordance to UK policy. • To assist in developing and refining ethics, health and safety, and data protection processes
