Michele Ziemann-DeVos is an arts executive, dance school director and ballet teacher with nearly twenty-five years’ work experience. She trained in Chicago, at the Pennsylvania Ballet and at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music; and embarked on a performance career that included several professional ballet companies. She was the School Director of The Georgia Ballet for seventeen years and its Executive Director for ten. During her tenure working alongside former Artistic Director Gina Hyatt-Mazon, the performing company mounted four world premiere story ballets; the school grew from 200 to 350 students; the budget increased by 50% and fundraising by 75%; and the organization was formally recognized with numerous awards for the excellence of its art, faculty, outreach programs and its efforts to reach a wide and diverse community of participants. Ms. Ziemann-DeVos served on the Georgia Council for the Arts dance panel from 2007-2010, as an officer of United Arts of Cobb from 2008-2013, and as the membership chair of the Southeast Regional Ballet Association from 2012-2013. She was a member of the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts & Culture Coalition’s 2005 class of arts and business leaders, and is currently an advisory board member of Kennesaw State University’s dance department.She is a public speaker and advocates to business and social service organizations in support of the positive power of arts education and on the economic impact of the arts.
