Michele Carlson is a practicing artist, writer and educator in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her visual works have been exhibited nationally and her critical writings on art and culture can be found in numerous publications including KQED, Art in America, Hyphen, and Afterimage. Carlson is on the Advisory Board for Hyphen, the only national print and online publication focusing on Asian American culture and politics while she is also a member of the Curatorial Committee at Southern Exposure, in San Francisco. Carlson's practice extends to the artist collective Related Tactics, a transdisciplinary group exploring projects at the intersection of race and culture. She is currently the Executive Director at Daily Serving | Art Practical and Associate Professor in Visual and Critical Studies at California College of the Arts.
