As a member of the Moore & Van Allen Intellectual Property Group, I concentrate my practice on trademark and copyright portfolio management and counsel clients on filing, using, and enforcing trademarks and copyrights worldwide. I am also a patent attorney with a Mechanical Engineering background, registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. I enjoy advising clients on various patent matters, including utility and design patent prosecution, freedom-to-practice, and patent portfolio analysis.I am an alumna of the University of Notre Dame (J.D., 2006) and Cornell University (B.S.M.E., 1999). Before attending law school, I was a product engineer at Air Products and Chemicals and earned my engineer-in-training certification.I am a fluent speaker of Egyptian Arabic and have a foundation in classical Arabic, both written and spoken. I also speak French.I am an active member and previous president of the Carolina Patent, Trademark & Copyright Law Association (CPTCLA).
