Michele Karmin is an indie singer-songwriter, composer and producer from the greater Philadelphia area. Her music often incorporates flourishes from the electronic world amidst cinematic orchestrations. Pair that with an introspective style of writing that is poignant, intimate, and vulnerably honest, to result in a palette of songs that reach deep into the individual listener’s world, while still maintaining a universal appeal. Michele’s desire to create music for picture has been a driving factor to her growing appetite of learning. She is a self taught pianist who later felt called to produce and engineer her original songs, not only to further expand her artistry, knowledge and adaptability to an ever changing industry, but more importantly to create her sound freely without limitations. On stage Michele’s live shows are organic and dynamic, centered around her unique adaptations of eclectic songs and her own original material. Her performances have been characterized as having a constant newness and an indelible passion. Michele utilizes a vocal harmonizer, synthesizer and sings while playing both the piano and kick drum at times accompanied by a drum machine. Upon combining elements of rock, electro lounge, and soul, Michele creates a musical landscape that is engaging, fresh and uniquely her own. In 2014 Michele created The MKX project as a moniker for her film/tv and advertisement musical compositions.In addition to the music, Michele has worked as a model and actress appearing in national commercials and print ads. She is a member of BMI, The Recording Academy and SAG-Aftra.
