Yoga is the science of consciousness and Ayurveda is the science of life. I received transmissions in Yoga and Ayurveda while living with a Shadow Yogi in her ashram, including chaya yoga asana, meditation, ayurveda, vastu, and shaktipats of consciousness.My journey with yoga has been so serendipitous; while in Melbourne, I met a yogini. She was a very simple woman, late 30s, dressed in all black yoga attire as to keep her mind always focused on her yoga practice. Her property was impeccable, natural, and very minimalist, a reflection of the pristine and clear nature of her mind. After some time of living with her during my 7 month stay, she initiated me into a primary series of ashtanga yoga, which I later learned had a reputation of being quite a disciplined, integrated tradition. I felt the inner transformation almost immediately while practicing, undoubtedly an effect of her level of mastery as a Yogi. One time when I was sitting with her in her kitchen, I was mesmerized by how much light was radiating from her crown chakra! Her aura was so bright! I had never seen an aura before, but just by being in her presence, I felt my nervous system being activated and my mental activity was accelerated. I laid down to rest afterwards and was seeing flashes of light behind my eyes, which was an incredible experience of the pranic cultivation and shaktipat energy transfer between yogis. What an unexpected start to a life-long spiritual journey for truth and self-realization.
