Michelene & Co was born in July 2020 after a second wave of layoffs from The Wing, a once high-flying coworking startup for women. At the height of the global pandemic and worldwide shutdowns, I found my niche working with venture capital firms who needed support thinking about community and events. While I created my company in response to a global crisis, I have a bigger vision and impact I aspire to make in the world. In my next chapter, I aim to create inspiring spaces in BIPOC communities that serve as hubs for social connection and economic empowerment.

Digitalundivided is dedicated to increasing visibility and access for Latina and Black women founders.START is a four-week program that provides student led-businesses from HBCUs with the funding and resources to build sustainable ventures.

Round was a venture-backed startup founded with the mission to accelerate the positive impact of technology on our world by growing the impact of leaders who lead with empathy, humility, and curiosity. Over time it evolved to become a network and hub for product and engineering leaders to connect, learn, grow, and gain new perspectives. February 2023 I joined Round as their first community hire. By August 2023 my scope of work expanded to also include marketing. My work could be distilled into five major buckets: digital engagement, member support, content marketing, virtual programming, and hosting. But my magic, my personal touch shined bright as a cheerleader, confidant, connector, facilitator, editor, hype woman, and trusted support. While Round shut its doors March 2024, I’m honored to have left a positive and memorable mark on our members. Because of our team’s collective efforts, 40 of our members stepped up to continue to run the network. While Round’s chapter as a business has concluded, its next chapter and continued legacy has just started. My work and impact: - Supported Northzone’s franchise building in the US by further building their operator network. In my time I grew Northzone's US Operator network from 0 to 100 leaders and operators from high growth startups. - Supported US-based portfolio company talent needs - Responsible for organizing ecosystem events throughout New York City

Played a key leadership role in the ideation and development of firm wide platform strategy. This role was created for me as part of a company wide transformation and reorganization after the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. I was one half of a small but mighty programming teamResponsible for the ideation, delivery, and improvement of digital member programs (especially the improvement of D&I). Executed upwards of 10 culture, business, wellness, and community events weekly serving 12,000 members. Key stakeholder and contributor to the creation of Business As Unusual, The Wing's first digital summit—an event series addressing the deep economic challenges women will face during and post COVID. Featured thought leaders, activists, and policy shapers such as Samantha Power, Ai-Jen Poo, and more. Netted 15,000 RSVPs and 4,000 new member leads. Supported Brand Partnerships Marketing team with the proposal, activation and execution of client programs. Clients included: Saks 5th Avenue, Netflix, Facebook, Aveeno Baby, Showtime, CW, Instagram, Dyson. Scouted and cultivated talent relationships with emerging and established women across culture, wellness, and business. Played a key role in creating program budgets, timelines, agendas, recaps, and other project documents and resources, working interdepartmentally within The Wings various teams and stakeholders

Front desk, event support, dish pit, clean team, and occasional barista. Making members day with Black girl magic and lattes. It has taken me a long time to publicly own this part of my career story. Today we call all of these roles essential work, yet we devalue the enormous contributions of service workers.

BIG is a highly competitive 12-week program designed for Latina and Black women entrepreneurs who are ready to test their idea and launch to market. After a series of popular events celebrating emerging artists, I applied to BIG to build a platform where artists could showcase and monetize their best creative projects.

Supported the office of Barbara Marcus, President & Publisher of Random House Children's Books (RHCB), while her executive assistant was on medical leave. Executed day-to-day organizational and administrative management at RHCB.

During college I bought a DSLR camera and stumbled into the world of photography. I, along with others, discovered I was good at capturing moments. Soon after I became a go-to photographer for Babson College and began to service the Greater Boston area. I continued working as a photographer post college covering corporate events and music festivals.

I was a creative intern a CRWN Mag, an independent magazine celebrating the lives of natural hair Black women. In my role I supported the Publisher & Creative Director with editorial process, social media content, blog content, and creative projects.

I was an intern at Portfolio Books, a leading business book imprint. I supported the publicity, editorial, and marketing departments within Portfolio. This experience cemented my love of storytelling.
