I am a learning experience design professional who drives creativity forward by utilizing my research expertise, understanding of user and learning design, and marketing & communications experience to craft engaging user experiences. With over 25 years of experience, I have a diverse skill set encompassing instructional design, marketing, communications, UX research, UX writing, branding, creative writing, graphic/UI design, programming, animation, and web & app development. In my current role, I serve as a learning experience designer at Dartmouth Health in New Hampshire, where I concentrate on creating annual required learning programs and providing patient safety education.Recently I completed a Doctorate of Education in Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development, where my research concentrated on examining the user experience of an AI-based simulation application through a sociotechnical lens to understand how the slow speed of technical transitions creates a need for familiarity in innovative technologies. I have a Master of Science in Communications, Culture, and Media from Drexel University where I focused on understanding how technology changes how society communicates and collaborates. As an undergraduate I studied computer science and communication arts at Alvernia University and East Carolina University.Beyond my professional endeavors, I published a children's book titled "Zotts & His Unfortunate Spots" and played a pivotal role in creating two grant-funded educational apps that focus on enhancing healthcare simulation debriefing and removing communication bias from classrooms. My expertise extends further to encompass photography, video production, email marketing, accessibility, website usability architecture, and healthcare simulation.
