The Library Development Bureau provides consultant services and technical assistance to create and improve library, information and literacy services in New Jersey. The unit administers state and federal grant funds to public libraries, sponsors continuing education opportunities, coordinates award programs, and facilities resource sharing through the New Jersey Library Network. Areas of expertise: youth services, literacy, services to urban and small libraries, diversity and community engagement, preservation, emergency preparedness, workforce development, business and technology.I have presented at many conferences and workshops including the American Library Association, Public Library Association, New Jersey Library Association, NJ Office of Emergency Management, International Disaster Conference & Expo (New Orleans), Emergency Preparedness Conference of the NJ Emergency Preparedness Association, NJ Volunteers Active After Disasters (VOAD) conference, Domestic Security Task Force Office of Homeland Security, NJ Health Association Annual Conference, as well as numerous webinars for a variety of State Libraries

NJCAR’s primary aims are to prevent and mitigate the loss of cultural and historic resources in the event of a disaster and to serve as a statewide resource. The functions and duties of NJCAR are to address pertinent issues regarding emergency preparedness and response. Working closely with New Jersey Office of Emergency Management (NJOEM), NJCAR has incorporated the State's cultural resources into the statewide Emergency Response Framework for disaster planning, risk assessment, hazard mitigation, and recovery. As a result, county and local government emergency managers can connect through NJOEM and NJCAR with managers of cultural assets in their local communities.

Library Director for this historic library that dates back to 1758. This unique institution was the seventh library established in the United States, and is the only library in the country open in continuous operation, not even closing it's doors during the Civil War. Responsible for all facets of running a modern day public library, complete with an updated technology lab and community programming, as well as, caring for and preserving a special collection of rare books, documents, prints, and paintings.
