As a first-generation Hispanic college student majoring in Biology, I’ve always been fascinated by the natural world and how it works, from the smallest molecular interactions to the bigger systems that sustain life. Along the way, I discovered an interest in Sociology, which gave me a new perspective on how science impacts society and vice versa. This blend of interests shaped my passion for breaking down barriers and making science more inclusive and accessible.Over time, I realized that I want to work at the intersection of science, technology, and law. After finishing my Biology degree, I plan to attend law school, focusing on intellectual property law to help protect innovations and support advancements in biotechnology and beyond. I’m also interested in pursuing a Master’s in Bioinformatics to strengthen my technical knowledge and broaden my ability to contribute to the field.What drives me most is the belief that science and education should be tools for empowerment, not exclusion. I’m committed to creating pathways for underrepresented communities to access opportunities in STEM and ensuring that innovation benefits everyone.
