Math and science teacher for middle school

Responsible for the instruction of science and social studies to girls at risk ages 11-18. Also, responsible for academic advising responsibilities to girls assigned to my homeroom - approximately 3-8 girls at any given time.

Responsible for the instruction of science and math to students in grades 6-8. Currently hold a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate for grades 5-9 in all subjects. Subject areas taught include Earth/Space Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Algebra.

Responsible for the instruction of physical science, physical science honors, biology, and biology honors to high school students.

Worked with all major raw material suppliers involved in supplying chemicals, packaging, and marketing products (including new products). These suppliers included Nypro, Alusuisse, Prent, and Rexham. Developed and managed multi-departmental teams with members from Vistakon and the suppliers to accomplish this goal – including engineering, marketing, research, QA, and regulatory affairs. Significant cost savings and efficiency gains resulted from these initiatives – including a $60 million/year savings on contact lens frames from a single project. All aspects of the relationship with the supplier including contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, new product development, production, quality assurance, and inventory management were incorporated into the team.Traveled to other J&J companies and related suppliers for training in the development of supplier partnerships with local purchasing departments.

Responsible for all aspects of ACUVUE contact lens production on assigned shift. Included the management of 60-70 operations personnel, mechanical issue resolution, quality assurance, and coordinating with R&D to implement new technology. Major projects were assigned by management on a regular basis in addition to regular duties which included working with other departments on cost saving and efficiency improvement projects.

Responsible for all aspects of quality assurance that involved chemical testing including pH testing, packaging evaluation, and tensile strength measurements. Raw material, packaging, and product specification development was key as well as personnel management of approximately 5-8 employees at a given time.

Worked on the initial ACUVUE contact lens research and development team as an analytical chemist responsible for development of initial testing protocols for FDA submission. Developed the polymer tensile strength test method, lens cleaning protocols, and other significant tests required for government review and production implementation.
