About Michelle B. Chen

An engineer by training, I build and integrate a diverse toolbox spanning organ-on-a-chip, microfluidics, quantitative microscopy, single-cell genomics, and bioinformatics to uncover previously inaccessible biological insights into disease mechanisms and facilitate therapeutic discovery. I am motivated by outstanding questions at the interface of vascular biology and neuroscience, and specifically, the role of the cellular microenvironment in regulating neurovascular tissue homeostasis and the progression of pathologies such as aging-related neurodegeneration and metastatic dissemination to the brain.
