About Michelle Beech. Mba. Asa .Aipa. Afa

Revisiting my heritage of finance I have stepped back into a role as a Chief Financial Officer working on developing and improving strategy, operations and refining systems and processes across all departments.Loving working with the organizations department heads mentoring and supporting their growth as leaders.My previous role was for the past 5 years as the Chief Executive Officer of DPS Publishing, the #1 Aged Care & Disabilty Support publisher in print and online offerings. I also held a dual role of Chief Financial Officer concurrently and worked as CEO for 3 organizations.Recently I was accepted as a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, I also hold a MBA and am a member of the Institute of Public Accountants.I love finance, operations and strategy, so roles such as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operations Officer or Chief Executive Officer are where my skills are most suited to and also what my heart desires. Across my career I have held various finance positions, ranging from an assistant accountant to office manager, growing to finance manager and then to CFO. This has been in many different industries ranging from packaging, solar to IT and aged care and disability.In 2004 I started my own accounting taxation company, providing a range of services to small business including booking, tax and financial reporting.Moved to commerce in 2010 after gaining a position of Chief Financial Officer, which then quickly grew into General Manager of a solar company during the solar boom.Took on a position of CFO for an aged, Disabilty and respite provider in 2012. I was given the opportunity at this company to take on the position of General Manager in 2015, during which time I also completed my MBA.After having a baby in 2016, i moved to DPS in October 16 to take up a position of Chief Financial Officer. A change in leadership saw me offered the position of General Manager in July 17.In April 2019 I was made Chief Executive Officer @ 37 years of age, a woman, in a role that is predominantly male dominated across Australia, and I couldn’t be prouder of the achievements I have had over the last 5 years.

    One of the best things about here was feeling like I made a difference in people’s lives. I will never forget the time that I was on call on a Friday night and one of our service providers rang. They had 2 little children in need of care and if we did not take them they may have had to sleep in the providers office as they just had no where for them to go. I spent the next couple of hours organising workers for the weekend, organising a house for them to go to, making sure the house was stocked with food and was a safe and nurturing environment for children. I then drove to the providers office to pick the children up and take them to the house. To see their little faces when I told them we were going somewhere they could be happy and safe is something I will never forget and knowing that I made a difference in their lives is all the thanks I needed.Achievements I was most proud of in this position included:• Setup of NDIS funding for the company including training staff in NDIS• Acquisition and expansion of respite cottages within Metro Area, including sourcing properties and negotiation of rental payments (total of 15 cottages)• Expansion into Regional areas (Whyalla, Pt Augusta, Ceduna) including acquisition of respite cottages• Relationship building with new funding bodies within Regional areas (as above)• Relationship building with state government agencies to setup partnerships for providing services• Implementation of activity programs and reward programs for children in care under the GOMOther duties:• Lead a team of 25 direct reports, with up to 250 support workers• All Operational aspects of the Company (Service Delivery, HR, Finance, Marketing)• Develop and lead projects within all areas of the business• Implement and ensure strategic direction of Company• Leadership and support to all employees within organisation• Lead and Manage the company’s finance functions including;
