The techniques I use for adjusting a patient range from manual adjustments (Drop, Diversified, Gonstead) to activator (gentle technique with a special tool) to Flexion-Distraction (Cox technique) which uses a special table and is great for relieving low back pain/disc problems. I find myself treating a lot of soft tissue traumas/microtraumas (i.e. plantar fascitis and chronic strains) with Graston Technique or Gua Sha tools, which are small beveled edged instruments used to break up adhesions in soft tissue; it's a great technique for athletes and others that have over-use traumas. We also have electrical stimulation, ice compression, hot moist pack, ultrasound, therapeutic laser and now Soft Wave for modalities at our office. Goals: To help as many people as we can by using our hands and our integrated approach to care. So many feel like they have to "learn to live with it" regarding their pain and musculoskeletal issues.
