Working with the Berlin based leather goods Artisan Lapàporter to create a range of handbags to be launched by the label in 2015. Quality is synonymous with German design, and Lapàporter is no exception, practicality and superior quality finish were the main focus at this studio and all production was done in house. The transeasonal 2015 collection was to be appropriate for the European market, with the objective to expand the brand and product offering as the label currently focuses on carefully crafting laptop, iPad and iPhone covers, as well as other customised leather goods. Responsibilities:- Preparing and presenting trend research - Conceptualising Mood/ Trend boards- Leather colour palette conception- Hardware sourcing and custom hardware design- Freehand and computer rendering of presentation material- Designing and conceptualising handbag range with focus on maintaining the brands high level of quality and finish- Patternmaking for handbags and small leather goods with focus on leather consumption final cost price- Realising designs through sewing and sampling of all prototypes- Overseeing production on existing styles- Organising timely delivery of PR samples

Sketching and realsing ideas using Illustrator, Photoshop and freehand drawing to communicate initial ideas to the business.Print Development including basic knowlege of print repeats and artwork generation. Responsible for briefing product and overseeing its initial development through to final prototype in line with the company timetable and margin targets.Daily liaison with supplier base in China and India and collaborating with the pre-production team to determine most appropriate vendor selection for the individual needs of the product. Preparation of monthly presentation material in line with monthly business meetings. Responsible for presenting the range to the internal marketing team and external PR agency.Maintaining Linesheets using Lectra PLM and keeping the team updated on changes to the range.Responsible for all style admin including pushing styles through using Lectra PLM.Overseeing sample leather sign offs, strike-offs, lab dips and trim approvals.Responsible for ordering and tracking marketing samples.
