    Transmission Test Engineer - Tech Center - TC-G. Worked on the On-Highway Transmission Development Team, developing the new CX28/31/35 On-Highway, aluminum cased xmsns. Came to the team prior to the first transmission availability and participated in spec'ing out of the lab facilities by assisting with Dynasty analysis, along with coordination for the build and instrumentation for the labs. Ran the endurance test cells including Drivetrain Simulators, PTO Test Stand, and the Gear and Bearing Stands and the Cold Room. I worked with controls team for tuning of the DTS xmsns, and worked with facility team to get the test stand cycle programmed which required invention of skip to the next step functionality on the Allen Bradley to make the cycle work as desired with a Min/Max governor, which was new for the lab endurance cycles. Completed transmission inspections and documentation and maintained a DUT log for the endurance units to document parts replaced over time. Coordinated inspections with Product Team, and suppliers particularly on the development of the PTO Drives with OEM suppliers.

    Mount Design / Application Engineer - Design control responsibility of Resilient Mounts. Ran mounting analyses for the corporation for engine/cab/coolers for all Cat machines. Mount selection and bolted joint recommendations were made to the various Product Groups. Rigid body assumptions were used, and where these were not appropriate worked with Dynamics Team at PPG to have them run non-linear FEA analysis to predict mount deflection by providing appropriate mount characteristics for their analysis. Interaction with TC-E Shake Table team on testing of systems. Worked with Chem Products development team on process / quality control of mounts made in house. This role started at TC-G, then moved to PPG (to allow more access to the machines we were working on, and to gain application understanding). Later the team moved back into TC-G.
