Senior Product Procurement Manager in E&T Purchasing supporting the Drivetrain product group by leading a team of 8-12 SCE (Supplier Collaboration Engineers) to find and develop sources for NPI & CPI parts as well as support AoS (Assurance of Supply) Issues for the Drivetrain Product Team. NPI Team responsibility for parts procurement and tracking.

Engineering Manager for LWL (Large Wheel Loaders), CWD (Compactors & Wheeled Dozers), and HRV (Hard Rock Vehicles) Drivetrain. Managed a Drivetrain team of 10-13 people including agency resources to maintain current production drivetrains, while delivering NPI, and CPI improvements across the LWL, CWD, and HRV Product Lines. Scope included Mechanical and Electrical drivetrains for these products with a job owner budget of $10M+. Worked with Machine Product Groups to develop relationships, and partner with their teams to achieve our joint objectives. Key accomplishments of my team include 992 FNPI Production Launch, and R1700XE (Cat's first Battery Electric Machine) Field Follow commissioning. Led Work Group Effectiveness teams to streamline and improve both the APQP and NPI Source Council Processes to ensure consistent application and understanding by broader Drivetrain teams. Active participation in the LPSD Early Career Talent Council. Supported Drivetrain's diverse interview panels by interviewing 61 candidates for US and India roles since taking this position, with 24 of those accepting jobs.

NPI Team Lead for LMT (Large Mining Truck) mechanical drive transmissions. Later responsibility grew to include Lower Powertrain for LMT products. Additionally, NPI responsibilities were added for AT (Articulated Truck) Drivetrains as well. Led cross-functional teams to implement new Drivetrains to production, by working closely and building strong relationships with the Machine Teams. Participated in Machine Level GW and Design Reviews representing the ITDD team. Cross-functional teams included Manufacturing, Procurement, Purchasing, Accounting, Design, Component Design, IPS (L5), Software (L4/5/6), Machine Level (L6), Validation (various levels). Maintained machine level test plan for Drivetrain at Tuscon Proving Ground to aid in manpower priority/resource needs planning from Software, Validation, Design areas. Implemented 785G Drivetrain, 793 APECS XMSN, 793 Batch 1 XMSN, supporting backwards compatibility and 793 T4 NPI, 789 Tier 4. 725/730/735 Terra AT Programs, 740 GC.

Tech Team Lead for CX31/35 OEM On-Highway and Well Service Transmissions - Led the Design Team for CX31/35 xmsns in the OEM applications, including CX31 in the Cat Vocational Truck program, as well as the Well Service variations of the xmsns. Initial role also included working Six Sigma Black Belt projects as part of the Design Team. Worked with Design Team, Manufacturing teams at KK and Dyersburg, TN, Component Teams. Worked with the TC Performance and Hardware teams to match various engine / xmsn combinations. Worked closely with the Validation team at TC-G on development of the xmsns, and resolution of NPI issues. As part of many NPI Teams, provided Design Review and GW updates from the Design side. Led integration effort on the Cat Vocational Truck with the Caterpillar hardware and controls teams interacting with the Navistar hardware and performance teams. Developed and provided training class on XMSN/TC at the Edwards Demonstration site as part of the Dealer Training and Ride & Drive event held there. Interacted closely with the OEM Solutions Group on new application approvals. Went to Con-Expo the year the Cat Vocational Truck was unveiled.

Transmission Test Engineer - Tech Center - TC-G. Worked on the On-Highway Transmission Development Team, developing the new CX28/31/35 On-Highway, aluminum cased xmsns. Came to the team prior to the first transmission availability and participated in spec'ing out of the lab facilities by assisting with Dynasty analysis, along with coordination for the build and instrumentation for the labs. Ran the endurance test cells including Drivetrain Simulators, PTO Test Stand, and the Gear and Bearing Stands and the Cold Room. I worked with controls team for tuning of the DTS xmsns, and worked with facility team to get the test stand cycle programmed which required invention of skip to the next step functionality on the Allen Bradley to make the cycle work as desired with a Min/Max governor, which was new for the lab endurance cycles. Completed transmission inspections and documentation and maintained a DUT log for the endurance units to document parts replaced over time. Coordinated inspections with Product Team, and suppliers particularly on the development of the PTO Drives with OEM suppliers.

Mount Design / Application Engineer - Design control responsibility of Resilient Mounts. Ran mounting analyses for the corporation for engine/cab/coolers for all Cat machines. Mount selection and bolted joint recommendations were made to the various Product Groups. Rigid body assumptions were used, and where these were not appropriate worked with Dynamics Team at PPG to have them run non-linear FEA analysis to predict mount deflection by providing appropriate mount characteristics for their analysis. Interaction with TC-E Shake Table team on testing of systems. Worked with Chem Products development team on process / quality control of mounts made in house. This role started at TC-G, then moved to PPG (to allow more access to the machines we were working on, and to gain application understanding). Later the team moved back into TC-G.

Chemical Products Division - Training Stations for New Hires at Peoria Proving Ground (System Dynamics team - working on D5G LGP TTT). Then moved to Rubber Mount Design Team doing mounting analyses and design control work. Permanent station in Chem Products - doing development of rubber components (mounts, idler guards, valve cover isolation seals, paver pads, etc) for various Caterpillar products. Design lead with interaction with manufacturing team at focused facility in Boonville, MO. Completed manufacturing trials at Boonville, as we all PD development work in building H, in Mossville, IL. Worked with in-house Material Team to select and approve materials for new product development. Interaction with mount design team with regards to performance properties of our mounts, and process/quality control. Directed testing (performance and endurance) of the mount product line at the Pioneer Park facility. Did non-linear FEA on rubber components to help in design /development of these products.

Three training rotations in the Mechanical Products Division, both at 12th Street location and at the Grandview locations. Assisted engineers in Fixed Wing, Rotary Wing, and Industrial Products Groups on daily engineering tasks including small design/analysis projects related to rubber mounts and PCN (Product Change Notices).
