We also have our sister company that I am responsible for, Waveform Global Pty Ltd, with a total of 10 staff who provide EME (RF) Reporting to the Telecommunications Industry. I pride myself on providing effective financial leadership to the finance team to enable strategic foresight into the business and provide knowledgeable and accurate financial reporting to the CEO, Board and Senior Leadership Team. I am a hands-on CFO – I work with my team and not above them. I like to get my hands dirty and get involved in the operations on the floor as I believe this is the key to successful reporting and financial control.

With a small finance team, we managed all aspects of Financial Control and reporting. The major areas of focus included Cash Flow Management, Payroll, Budgeting & Forecasting, Fixed Assets, Compliance and Financial Reporting.A major function of my role was to work with the manufacturing team to oversee management of the inventory function including item codes, BOM, recoveries, provisions and WIP. I was responsible for all inventory costing and management controls and ensured inventory Officers worked in conjunction with Master Production Scheduler in formulating systems and procedures to allow for best practice.

Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager I was responsible for inventory management and control, cost out initiatives, budget and forecasting, managing Accounts Payable, monthly reporting, audit and reconciliations and leading continuous improvement projects.As the company has only recently merged with GE from Industrea, I found myself working with the newly acquired finance team in Brisbane relating to controllership and FP&A queries as well as the Transportation Group in the USA.

With operating plants in South Australia, Toowoomba and the United Kingdom we serviced customers Nationally and Internationally. Covering New Zealand, Europe, USA and Australia my role was to support the CFO as his Senior Financial Accountant and 2IC. We reported in multi-currency and implemented SAP B1 to allow us to create consolidated financial reports in AUD. As the first accountant to the team I managed majority of the financial control including Receivables, Payables, Payroll, Reconciliations, Fixed Assets, Cashflow and Reporting. We also had extensive reporting for Manufacturing purposes including cost volume analysis and WIP.Working closely with external parties I managed all compliance, tax and audit requirements as well as train new staff members as the company grew. In my time we doubled in size and upon my exit I was managing a small team of accountants and administration staff.
