Family and Early Childhood Education: I have worked in early childhood education as a teacher, program designer, parenting instructor, personal parent support home visitor, college instructor, and mentor other early education professionals and parent educators. My graduate degree in early childhood education and years of experience in the field have resulted in a high level of skill and expertise. Mindfulness: I provide professional development to educators to help them manage stress and self-care through mindfulness meditation. I teach mindfulness to students aged from preschool through college. I also teach mindful living and meditation to adults. I am continuing my education through the MBSR certification pathway at Brown University. Program Design/Other: I have experience designing early childhood programs to fit the unique needs of communities. One such program, "The Purple Bus", which I designed and piloted for a public school district in Wyoming, won the highest honor through the National School Boards Association. Additional program examples: Parents and Tots, Preschool in a Modern One-Room Schoolhouse, three-year-old classes, 4/5 year old classes. Other early education experience includes Adjunct Instructor for Eastern Wyoming Community College, mentoring pre-service and in-service early education teachers. I have led a preschool through National Accreditation (NAEYC). Special Education Experience: JK-2 resource room teacher, 3-5 resource room teacher, Pre-k through 4 Behavior Interventionist, 9-12 high school Mindfulness Instructor, middle school special education co-teacher. District-wide case manager, interim special education director, and district achievement assessor. General Public/Private Education Experience: Birth through preschool and every elementary grade level, secondary teaching experience. College (adjunct instructor), adult community education instructor. I am endorsed and hold highly qualified status in the state of Wyoming and advanced teacher status in South Dakota: K-12 Exceptional Generalist, Birth-5 Early Education, Elementary Education K-6, behavior interventionist. I am also a Certified Mindfulness Instructor through the International Mindfulness Teachers Association, Professional Level. I hold an M.Ed. specializing in early education. I'm completing an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership with Special Education Director Emphasis through USD. Finally, I'm enrolled in MBSR certification through Brown University.
