Providing general marketing and content support to one of the UK's leading virtual marketing agencies. A wide-ranging role this involves everything from target and client research and creating databases (and helping organisations to plough through GDPR-related data cleaning), as well as writing email marketing campaigns, blog posts and managing social media content.This role has developed to also include client-facing social media support and blogging. Clients include education suppliers, law firms and business consultants.

Educating both with the general public and private clients on all aspects of Scotch Whisky through seminars and tastings. Aspects of this role include:● Staying up to date with a rapidly-changing market through my own study. ● Assisting the marketing team with copywriting for blogs. ● Hosting tastings and tutoring sessions to both small and large groups. ● Getting stuck in with anything that needs doing, be it in education or polishing glasses! ● Dealing appropriately with a wide variety of customers, 85% of which are non-English speakers, in a professional yet warm manner.● Managing a large workload and prioritising tasks, particularly during very busy periods, such as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival - thinking on your feet when things don’t go to plan is vital!

Helping the public to engage with the world’s oldest public museum. I am responsible for both the public’s enjoyment of the museum as well as their safety within the building. I am required to have an extensive knowledge of the collection, as well as temporary exhibitions, in order to help visitors find what they are looking for and inform them on any objects they are interested in.

Helping visitors to the museum interact with objects through handling them physically within the museum. Maintaining safe handling methods and encouraging these with members of the public; having a good knowledge now of how to treat artifacts and how to ensure they remain safe whilst on display; learning the layout of a very large building, both for the purposes of security as well as to guide visitors to their desired destination.

Speaking to customers about products and explaining the production process of whisky and other spirits, as well as assisting with the smooth-running of daily tours. Through my work I built up an in-depth understanding of a huge range of spirits, particularly whisky, and the complexities of how each spirit is made.
