Worked at the AWS facilities where I am responsible for the health and safety of approximately 200 employees and contractors/vendors. In this role, I am responsible for investigation of workplace incidents, both with and without injuries, or occupational diseases to determine their causes and to determine whether the incidents could have been or can be prevented. Responsible for maintaining safety and compliance in ISO and OSHA Standards, developing and implementing safety programs and preventing unsafe working conditions through floor observations, inspections, speaking with employees and gathering ideas. Leading medium to large scale safety projects on a regional perspective.

Worked at the Intalco plant which consisted of approximately 750 employees and contractors, and was responsible for investigation of industrial incidents, both with and without injuries, or occupational diseases to determine their causes and to determine whether the incidents could have been or can be prevented, utilizing the Human Performance Science and Critical Controls System for the Cast House and Maintenance areas. Responsible for maintaining safety and compliance in ISO and OSHA Standards, developing and implementing safety programs and preventing unsafe working conditions through floor observations, inspections, speaking with employees and gathering ideas. Participated in the Electrical Safety, Fall Control, Fatality and Serious Injury Prevention and Molten Metal teams.

Worked at the Pocos de Caldas plant which consisted of approximately 350 employees and contractors and was responsible for investigation of industrial incidents, both with and without injuries, or occupational diseases to determine their causes and to determine whether the incidents could have been or can be prevented utilizing the Human Performance Science and Critical Controls System for the Cast House, Refinery, Mining, Demolition plant and Maintenance areas. Responsible for maintaining safety at the Alcoa plant, maintain compliance in ISO and OSHA Standards and also NRs (Brazilian legislations), developing and implementing safety programs and preventing unsafe working conditions through floor observations, inspections, speaking with employees and gathering ideas. Provided safety trainings throughout the plant. Led the Fatality and Serious Injury, LTV and Confined Space teams. Managed a 5-member cross-functional (Refining, Mining, Cast House and Powder Plant safety professionals) team and coordinated with them to maintain a safe work environment. Brainstormed with teams of Engineers and fellow safety professional to create new ways of performing tasks in a safer manner. Participated in 4 internal and external Safety audits.

Developed incident reporting for all of Alcoa plants globally and created statistical analysis for EHS directors for over 15 plants worldwide. Reasearched new safety protocols to facilitate keeping safety metrics for all plants. Worked on safety demands for the Poços de Caldas plant and had a short assignment as the Safety Engineer.

ASAT, which means Alcoa Self Assessment Tool is used in order to pre-audit controls. I worked as an ASAT EHS Tester guaranteeing that the controls at a certain location meet compliance requirements.
