I have more than 20 years of strategic communications and public relations experience in PreK-12 public education and health care. For more than 16 years, I worked for North Kansas City Schools with the responsibilities of telling great stories about student and school successes, informing the community to encourage support for bond issues, managing crisis communications for situations ranging from suspicious activity at school bus stops to full-scale building evacuations, and everything else that comes with being a school communicator.I was an active member of the Missouri School Public Relations Association, serving in leadership roles as president, secretary, and regional director. I also earned several communications awards, and leadership awards that include the Tina Zubeck Spirit Award and Rookie of the Year. I first earned Accreditation in Public Relations in 2018. In August 2020, I joined Midwest Transplant Network as a digital content specialist to share the stories of people impacted by the gift of life offered through organ, eye and tissue donation. I led MTN’s social media efforts focusing on strategic engagement, managed the website, supported and enhanced internal communications for staff, and provided digital support for community engagement events such as the annual Donate Life Legacy Walk. In September 2023, I joined the team at the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce as Director of Communications. My role includes creating content on a wealth of topics, media relations, social media management and amplifying the good news of our member organizations. I have a Bachelor of Arts in history from Drake University, and a Master of Arts in history from Pittsburg State University.
