My background consists of 10+ years of customer service experience working as a support specialist for an insurance claims department. I was successfully promoted and trained as an Auto Claims Adjuster. In 2003, I discontinued my employment to stay home and raise my 2 children full time. Beginning in 2009, I began taking classes at a community college and decided to enter the healthcare field. I entered the Surgical Technology program at Frederick Community College (FCC). I completed 2 of 3 semesters, gaining important knowledge and technique in a surgical environment. I did not complete the program due to some unforeseen issues with commuting so far to complete my clinical rotations. I enjoyed the experience, however, my children were very young and I felt it was in their best interest to take a step back. In 2012, I graduated with honors for my A.A. General Studies. One year later, I began the RN nursing program at FCC. In December 2015, I graduated again to receive the A.S. Nursing degree and a month later I passed the NCLEX exam to become a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland. I have recently enrolled into the Chamberlain College of Nursing RN-BSN program. Currently, I am seeking a full time position as a registered nurse. I am willing to accept an internship to gain work experience and sharpen my clinical skills further. I consider myself to be a creative thinker, attentive, compassionate with good listening skills, accountable and honest, and always willing to continue learning new things and improving my existing skills.
