Working directly with small businesses, supporting them with start up, business development, recruitment, funding applications, implementation of policies and procedures, finances, processes and structures. Supporting the development of the Youth Enterprise Zone Incubator facility, renting out desk space, supporting clients, working on collaborative themed networking events, with guest speakers and networking activities. Also taking a lead role in organising a variety of Award Ceremony and Showcase events to celebrate and showcase the achievements and products/services of JBG Enterprise Clients.

Develop ILM accredited training pack, deliver and facilitate Enterprise workshops to young people aged 16-20 years old, support young people to complete course, participate in all enterprise activities. Also support with the wider project; working closely with partner organisations to refer young people after the course finished. Support the involvement of key stakeholders, i.e. funders to participate in enterprise projects. Organise celebration events and official award presentation events for young people, partners, funders and key stakeholders.

The Working it Out Programme supports excluded young people (aged 16 to 24 years) and helps them develop life-management skills and gain practical work experience and employment through a series of community challenges. The role of Employer Engagement Adviser is to enhance the service provided by Tomorrow’s People by a proactive approach with employers and clients to maximise work placements, job opportunities and referrals over a six month period. The role included; • To liaise with local employers to secure employment and workplace opportunities. To collate local labour market information and produce reports as directed by Line Manager• To establish links with local employers with a view to arranging work placements for clients to either apply for, or be matched against• To be aware of incentives available for employers and the process involved to set up apprenticeships to encourage employers to take on apprentices• To be able to understand the needs of young people and potential barriers to work and these could be overcome• To support Line Manager with specific marketing initiatives and tasks• To assist Line Manager, as necessary, with specific projects, initiatives and issues

Appointed through Depot Arts on behalf of NGARN North Glasgow Arts and Regeneration Network to carry out a community consultation called ‘Art is for Everyone’The role included; • Set clear objectives for the research• Develop a questionnaire• Organise focus groups, one to one interviews and suitable places to carry out street questionnaires, whilst ensuring we reach a broad range of ages from a variety of areas across North Glasgow• Develop a map to show the areas in North Glasgow and what type of activities are going on locally• Carry out questionnaires and facilitate focus groups• Analyse data and write report with recommendations on how to improve advertising. How and where to reach people, the type of activities people are interested in locally• Co-ordinate and manage a tight budget• Develop and carry out presentations on the findings and recommendations.

Working within the uk poverty programme, focusing on working mainly with disadvantaged children, young people and families within the poorest communities. Supporting them to become active in changing elements of the community important to them. The change projects demostrated positive impact on the wider community with the potential to become a best practice model, that could be replicated across the uk to create change on a national level. Supported children, young people and families to have meaningful involvement in a range of national campaigns to hold the government to account in their plans to end child povery in the uk. Projects involved included local community change projects e.g. implementation of a pilot youth programme in an area with no provision and high levels of anti social behaviour. The development of the museum of poverty, a uk wide exhibition giving examples of artifacts that would be displayed in museum in the uk when poverty was eradicated, items included pre-payment gas meters, inadequate/overpriced childcare etc. The exhibition was launched in the Scottish parliament.Lead a range of initiatives to actively engage children and young people in national policy change, including the young ambassador programme. The programme started off with a week long training and team building residential. The training elements included policy change, how to campaign, marketing and media workshops. Supported young people to take part in an international youth exchange to engage and learn about different cultures and community activism in czech republic, young people attended from Portugal, Scotland, Poland. Lead the development of 'Wee Shots' a series of short films made by children and young people from Glasgow, Oldham, Bradford and London. The young people talk about the impact of growing up in poverty in the UK and what can be done to tackle it. The film is used to strengthen support for the end child poverty campaign.
