Advocated and served as the agency’s principal liaison for Title-I contracting to influence support for the positions and interests of tribal governments and tribal organizations. Provided direct support to all IHS DST through leadership, technical assistance, and advocacy in the development of health policy, program management, budget formulation and budget allocation. Advised the IHS Director and senior management on all DST issues and concerns. Coordinated and collaborated with the Direct Service Tribes Advisory Committee (DSTAC) to host a national quarterly and yearly forum for all tribal leaders to discuss best practices, partnerships, and resources to improve the Indian health care delivery system. Administered a national statutorily mandated grant program designed to assist T/TO in beginning and/or expanding self-determination activities. Served as the principal liaison with DST Tribal leaders, the DSTAC, T/TO, Inter-Tribal Consortiums, Area Health Boards, and Service Unit Health Boards.
