I tap a deep knowledge of Colorado public policy, a broad appreciation for Colorado's issues and its people, and a skilled writing touch to create relevant and insightful programs for a daily news-interview show. My tasks include research, reporting, scripting, audio and web editing. I regularly produce the show's interviews with Colorado's governor.

From 2012-2016 I created and managed communications strategy, programs and events for the University of Colorado Journalism department and then the new College of Media, Communication and Information. In the mid-2000s I was a journalism instructor and adviser to the student-run publication The Campus Press

I provided research and reporting, scripting and post-interview editing for a daily news-interview show. Special areas of interest included politics and government, science, and Colorado history. Projects included a series of interviews with people enduring long-term unemployment and with people who grew up in Colorado during the Great Depression. Produced monthly interviews with Colorado's governor.

Served as assistant city editor, city editor and national/international editor of the region's flagship newspaper. Helped lead the Post's Pulitzer-winning coverage of the Columbine High School shootings; managed coverage of statewide and national elections; oversaw the Post's foreign and domestic reporters in their assignments in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. Worked with the Post's photo, graphics and online teams in designing timely, authoritative and visually distinctive coverage.

Covered the Colorado legislature, the governor's office and numerous statewide campaigns. Covered the Denver mayor's office, city council and other local governments. Progressed to become a special projects reporter, authoring in-depth packages on the state's fiscal condition and on people living with AIDS, among other topics.

Covered business, breaking news and local government. Named Reporter of the Year by the Colorado Springs Press Association.
