Department Head responsible for overseeing the Human Resources/Safety and Public Information Divisions. Define division objectives and work plan items to meet District Strategic Plan goals. Responsible for preparation and oversight of Department’s biennial budget. Attend all Board meetings, Personnel and External Affairs committee meetings to present matters requiring Board input and guidance. Serves as the District's Risk Manager for all insurance and workers' compensation matters. Interim assignment as Senior Manager is in addition to ongoing performance of the HR Supervisor responsibilities.

Provided analytical human resources expertise on a variety of assignments, including program review and implementations, creating and updating policies and procedures, employee benefit contract administration, leave of absence and disability program management, project management for HRIS software implementations (e.g. electronic performance management software) labor relations support and employee relations. Developed metrics for reporting and evaluating program and process efficiency.

Performed HR Generalist functions including personnel action processing, HRIS administration, new hire orientations, employee relations and workplace investigations, facilities support, recognition program administration, and leave of absence and workers compensation administration.

Served as the company-designated Leave Administrator for all FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and other protected leave requests. Processed large caseload of approximately 30 leave requests per week (250-300 cases running at any given time), and managed all follow-up communications with the employees, Store Managers, Regional HR Business Partners, and corporate legal support. Processed leave of absence requests for the states of California, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Colorado, and Hawaii.

Provided HR assistance with recruitment and selection, HRIS data management, personnel file management, safety program administration, and training support.
