Currently, I teach ENL/ELA at Jericho Senior High School on Long Island. Additionally, I teach AP Language and Composition to Junior students. I am also the Head Girls Varsity Lacrosse Coach and the Assistant Coach for the Girls Varsity Soccer. I am currently the ULAX Nassau County Manager for Nassau County High School Girls Lacrosse. I initiated this program to come to Nassau County to help girls improve their lacrosse skills year-round and to bring access to lacrosse to underprivileged communities. I am an enthusiastic and committed graduate from SUNY Oneonta with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Adolescent Education - English. I completed my student teaching at West Islip High School and Beach Street Middle School in the fall of 2015. I also received my Initial Teaching Certification in English Language Arts grades 7-12 in January 2016. I completed my Master's at Touro College of Education in the area of TESOL in June 2018. I earned my CST Certification in TESOL in July 2017. My diverse and colorful background has enabled me to grow as a teacher as well as a professional in the work environment. Through my experiences, I have acquired skills in public speaking, collaborative group work, time management, and organization. I have been able to grow as a teacher through opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. I have had the honor of tutoring underprivileged young students at Job Corps as well as mentoring and supplying work-related advice for the young adults of the Year Up Program through Kate Spade and Company. My coaching experiences have allowed me to work with students of all different ages ranging from 1st grade to college. Coaching has enabled me to not only improve my communication and teamwork skills but also shown me ways to keep students motivated. Overall, my teaching philosophy is to keep students intrigued and entertained to improve their work ethic and their desire to succeed. I taught at The Urban Assembly Maker Academy teaching 9th and 11th grade ELA for 3 years. I was the advisor for 17 Seniors, and the Lead Advisor of all senior advisories. Additionally, I was a member of the Culture Committee and have traveled to San Francisco with Springpoint to discover and implement teaching structures and strategies at my current school. I was also a member of The Leadership Team for Classroom Procedures and Routines.
