Independence Street is owned and exclusively operated by Michelle Drechsel. Prior to her life as a dyer, Drechsel unleashed her sometimes classic, sometimes wild color sense on the tourism world as a graphic designer in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The mountains and outdoor life still hold a strong influence in her color palettes. Drechsel sees her less-frequent neon colorways representing adrenaline, which she chased endlessly in her outdoor life on single-track mountain biking trails and downhill skiing. She pulled back from full-time design in 2013 to grow and raise two wild little boys, currently ages 2 and 4 and couldn't be more thrilled to interact with color in a tangible, physical form.
