Coordinated the Charge Ahead California campaign—a joint effort by environmental and environmental justice organizations—to expand light, medium, and heavy-duty electric vehicle (EV) use and ensure access to EVs for low-income communities, resulting in the passage of the Charge Ahead California Initiative (SB 1275) in 2014. --Led effort to secure legislative support from over 50 advocacy organizations, industry stakeholders, and city governments.--Initiated coalition petition drive and delivered more than 10,000 signatures to CARB in support of protecting the state’s Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate.--Organized a dozen first-of-their-kind EV test drive events in low-income communities throughout CA, coordinating with community-based organizations, OEMs, and elected officials.--Provided input/support for statewide funding proposals for low-carbon transportation.Played leadership role in the LA County Electric Bus Coalition, securing commitments from LA Metro, LA City Council, and Santa Monica to transition to 100% zero-emissions bus fleets by 2030 or sooner.Analyzed and supported statewide legislation related to global warming, clean transportation, renewable portfolio standards, solar energy, and battery storage.Managed grassroots campaigns for greater expansion of renewable energy, including campaigns to pass SB 100, protect net metering policies statewide, and advance solar power commitments in LA.Organized all aspects of and moderated more than 30 press events uniting advocacy partners, industry leaders, and elected officials, and generating hundreds of clean energy stories in local, state, and national media outlets.Represented organization in TV/radio interviews including NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, Fox’s Money with Melissa Francis, and NBC’s News Conference, and cultivated relationships with print media, resulting in favorable editorials and quotes by outlets such as the LA Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and the New York Times.

Organized exchange program for Russian activists to meet with Los Angeles experts on goods movement and environmental protection. The program resulted in the inclusion of a Russian port community in a long-term international air quality monitoring project conducted by the University of Southern California’s Institute for Global Health.Coordinated international campaign to ensure public participation in the development of international environmental laws related to the Caspian Sea.Provided strategic planning and support to on-the-ground campaigns in Kazakhstan and Russia.

Organized a series of international conferences and publications focused on establishing dialogue between local environmental organizations, transnational petroleum corporations, and governments.Organized the Caspian Caravan, a program in which Kazakhstani, Russian, and American environmental leaders traveled throughout the Caspian region to assess the impacts of World Bank funding on oil and gas projects.Remotely managed satellite office in Atyrau, Kazakhstan, hiring and managing the office director, traveling frequently to Kazakhstan to ensure consistencies between the Atyrau office and broader organizational priorities, working with office director to develop strategies and workplans, and fundraising and reporting to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
