HR Generalist

I supervised 20 undergraduate staff in running the operations of the Michigan State University, South Complex Fitness Facility. Daily, responsible for a number of tasks, a few including: Management of the student staff- hiring, training, scheduling, daily payroll, employee issues, project planning, safety, and overall supervision of Staff.Operations of the facility- Managing the POS system, increasing and tracking sales, increasing and tracking patron count, patron safety, machine maintenance, customer service, and marketing planning.

• Developing payroll auditing system assessing more than 700 employees daily payroll• Training and supervising two newly hired support staff employees on payroll auditing system• Cross examining documents to verify payroll accreditation• Mediate employee discrepancies by working with schedulers and conduct departments

• Assisted the professional staff with the day to day operations of the main Fitness Services building used on Michigan State University’s 50,000+ person campus• Maintained point of sales system with net income in excess of 1.5 million dollars• Authorized building keys with responsibility to open and supervise early building operations• Secured private patron information while successfully completing several front desk and receptionist duties• Oversaw patron safety and risk management by enforcing building procedures

• Planned and improved recruitment strategies for AmeriCorps sites and AmeriCorps members in the Capital Area• Collected customer feedback surveys to analyze success of 20 mini sessions by creating average satisfaction ratings for each session held at the Everybody Eats conference held in Lansing• Hosted trainings and monthly meetings for the Power of We Consortium and its AmeriCorps program • Posted open AmeriCorps member positions on various websites, maintained constant contacts website• Aide to Power of We Consortium Director and AmeriCorps Director

• Participated in group/individual interviews and post interview process, including new employee orientation• Reevaluated employee tasks and performances to keep up to date training models• Cross trained employee credentials to make matrix for easy expertise recognition• Managed sensitive information when updating and improving employee personnel documentation• Performed daily walk-throughs on plant floor to maintain MIOSHA safety regulations
