When I became a parenting everything changed, in the best ways of course! As a single parent, someone who has worked with children for over half my life, and someone who has studied child development, resilience, & neuroscience at a graduate level- I RELATE and UNDERSTAND just how difficult parenting can be, regardless of your circumstances. I learned about all these amazing methods and strategies to use in family and child interventions, psychotherapies and benefits, and neuropsychology research and how to apply it to daily life. I immediately wondered why these interventions were not available to all parents? I also learned firsthand the effects intergenerational trauma has on parenting and how to heal our inner child to parent with intention. In my own family and culture. (Peruvian/African American)I have seen the lack of mental health resources within our environments and the detriment it can cause. I work to reduce the disparities between groups especially when it comes to raising resilient and empowered children. This set me on a mission to bring together my strengths and experience into building a practice which empowers parents and children. Provides true attachment/gentle parenting in a way that integrates research and what actually works in real life. As a consultant, I strive to educate other EC practitioners, Spanish therapists, and parenting educators on the new developments in our industry and ensuring culturally competent intervention delivery and clinical practices.I am very passionate about true attachment parenting and positive parenting, toddler development, LatinX therapies, cats,, and various volunteer community causes.
