Michelle is a dynamic and enthusiastic professional with over 25 years experience in adult education, disability, social justice and advocacy.In 2021 she was nominated for Vice-Chancellor’s Award for VE Innovation-Teacher of the Year. This was in recognition of her inclusion of people with disability as active participants in the delivery of content in classroom activities as well as assessment delivery. In 2019 she was nominated for the RMIT Vice Chancellor’s Francis Ormond Award. This award is presented to a staff member who comes to their role each day with passion and purpose. This was in recognition of Michelle's passion as a strong advocate for students with disabilites ensuring they had equitable access in education. Michelle currently volunteers as a peer volunteer with Switchboard’s Out and About program. This program is a service for older LGBTQI people with the aim to reduce isolation and loneliness through creating peer friendships and community connections. She is also reqistered with the Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria.
