About Michelle Merrell

I’m a dedicated, results-focused Retail Operations Executive with over 20 years of experience leading cross-functional teams in executing world-class sales strategies that boost profits and competitive advantage. A leader of leaders, I specialize in guiding and coordinating geographically dispersed department heads, directors, and managers in rolling out enterprise-wide programs and initiatives that drive business development. If you’re looking for an outgoing, people-first sales & merchandising leader who puts customers first while consistently delivering revenue growth, then I’m the person for your team!Throughout my distinguished career in retail operations, I have achieved ever greater levels of financial and managerial responsibility, overseeing sales operations, gross profits, selling expenses, and OSG&A for large blue-chip corporations such as 7-Eleven and Dollar General. I have extensive experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams in planning and launching company-wide strategies and sales programs and am seen as the “go-to” person for spearheading far-reaching initiatives. In my current role as Vice President of Retailer Initiative Acceleration at 7-Eleven, I oversee a national team of leaders that includes 3 directors and 22 multiunit senior managers. Additionally, as Zone Vice President of 7-Eleven’s Western territory, I owned full P&L responsibility with overall net revenue of approximately $18 billion. An agile and adaptive leader, I can overcome the toughest challenges and lead my team to meet our annual earnings budget even when sales are sparse. I have a strong record of revitalizing struggling teams and departments, transforming them into powerhouses of efficiency and revenue generation. In 2022, I was promoted to Zone VP of 7-Eleven’s Western Area, an 18-state territory consisting of 2500 stores under three banners (7-Eleven, Stripes, and Speedway), over 500 restaurants, and 20,000 employees. The territory had just been restructured, leaving the team without structure or efficient processes. Seeing an opportunity for growth, I established accountability, cadences, new business processes and set up a program to recognize team members for their achievements. Given new direction and purpose, the team has gone on to make invaluable contributions, achieving sales and profitability growth over multiple years. My values-driven leadership style combined with my business development acumen positions me to succeed in any SVP or VP of operations role.
