Womenswear Head Of Buying
Lojas Avenida is a Brazilian retailer. The company has more than 100 stores in Brazil. They have been on the Brazil top 10 retailer’s list for the past 5 years. As womenswear head of buying, I was responsible for 35% of company’s annual budget (AUD $140M). This included all apparel categories including denim, tops and bottoms for young, casual, contemporary, and classic ladies and intimates. My responsibilities in this role were buying new products, managing people, direct negotiations with suppliers, managing OTB, store sales and KPI analysis. This involved: - Best practice product development, sourcing, negotiation, and in-season trading abilities. - Experience in a range of Apparel departments. - Achieving sales, margin, and inventory level budgets. - Sales analysis and reports. - Build a cohesive and commercial range. - Manage the financial trading of the department. - Trend knowledge and commercial acumen. - Regular international travel to source & develop products. - Work with external suppliers building and strengthening relationships. - Manage, coaching and developing a team of 12. - Organizing business trip itineraries and appointments. - Monitoring stock and ordering supplies as necessary. - Fixture sourcing and stockroom allocation for over 100 stores. - Setting department budget and strategy alongside the merchandiser.
