PRISM is a progressive and innovative organization that aims to build resilience in people and create healthy and sustainable communities. Currently there are more people living in poverty in the suburbs than in the city. PRISM is a leading provider of social services in suburban Hennepin County. Our core services are food, clothing and housing. We deliver programs with exceptional customer service with the firm belief that ALL people have strengths and abilities. Our focus on dignity allows people to be partners in getting the help they need, while growing their network of supportive people and opportunities. - Marketplace Food Shelf - Program participants meet privately with a staff member to assess for needs. Participants then shop independently in our clean and well-stocked food shelf to supplement their food needs for approximately one week. Meat, dairy, produce, and staples including flour and peanut butter are readily available. ~600 households per month this program.- Shop for Change - Shop.Donate.Change Lives. This local thrift shop is open to the public and is a unique social enterprise. 100% of proceeds support the social services offered by PRISM; prices are exceptionally low which serves the mission of the organization by stretching limited budgets. Shop for Change is the place where you can shop with dignity, even on a limited budget.- Homeless Prevention & Intervention - PRISM prevents families experiencing short term crisis from losing their housing. Rapid ReHousing services help families that are currently homeless and residing in a shelter. Relationships with landlords, rent assistance and an array of support services help to stabilize these families in the suburbs.- Seasonal programs - birthday room, school supplies & Holiday Toy Shoppe help to ensure that traditions can be honored and maintained.Pleases contact me for a tour and to learn more about how you can help build a stronger community!www.prismmpls.org
