My Teaching Philosophy I personally love being in ‘judgment-free zones.’ I like a classroom culture where mistakes are more than tolerated, but even celebrated. When mistakes are seen as part of giving their best, it encourages students to keep trying, to keep going. While technology can easily support different levels of instruction in the classroom (and should be in the teacher’s toolbox of instruction), students also need opportunities to interact with projects and with other students. My mentor at Brigham Young University always said that a good activity has multiple levels of entry, so each student can be supported in their educational journey. Students' ability to connect concepts within and between content areas is important to sense making.
