I am an advocate for youth, particularly marginalized communities. I am in the process of completing my B.A with Toronto Metropolitan University. Once complete, I am on track to get my Masters in Psychotherapy and Counselling.I have worked in Customer Service as a receptionist within professional environments for over 15 years which has provided me with confidence in my ability to adapt and create a safe space for those around me. I have a passion for knowledge and as a result am now a trained Kundalini Yoga Teacher and a Usui Reiki Master. Meditation and mindful practices have been paramount in teaching me how to effectively connect with children and youth. My recent training in the Fast Track Child and Youth Care practices program at George Brown, specifically surrounding Anti-oppression practices has helped me to understand how to responsibly apply the knowledge I have learned in order to be effective.Ultimately, I hope to be an advocate for mental health within the black community. There aren't enough resources available to my community and I wish to change that. My goal is to create a modality of therapy which encompasses metaphysical health, art and overall wellness into therapeutic, culturally aware and connective practices.
